Donald Parison, the Director General of the Metropolitan Solid Waste Collection Service (SMCRS), announced that 20 million gourdes, will be spent in an operation of waste collection in the metropolitan area before the start of classes, a process that will create 4,000 to 5,000 temporary jobs during a period of about 20 days "We will redouble our efforts to remove all debris through the streets of the metropolitan area in order to make it much safer for the new school year," said Director of SMCRS.
In addition, the Director Parison, within the framework of the program "Environmental Citizenship", initiated jointly with the municipalities of the metropolitan region and the Ministry of Environment, there are nearly two months aimed at educating citizens to commit to clean the front of their homes and neighborhoods, has urged people to better manage their household waste by keeping them in appropriate places awaiting collection by a truck of SMCRS and avoid to engage wheelbarrow that often throw garbage in inappropriate places...
