Haiti - Security : Police operation in Cité Soleil

Commissioner Frantz Lerebours, spokesman of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) announced that following recent clashes between two rival gangs of neighborhood Boston and Bélécou of Cité Soleil, the PNH supported by agents of the Departmental Unit of Maintenance of Order (UDMO), of the police of Cite Soleil and UN police in Haiti (UNPOL), carried out Friday morning, carried out Friday morning, successfully, a large police operation which led to the arrest of fifteen individuals, and a seizure of weapons.
Frantz Lerebours stressed that there was no victim to complain during this operation. He said that it was the first of a series of operations that will lead the PNH within the framework of its struggle against the crime and insecurity in the metropolitan area.
