The Prime Minister was then received by Andris Piebalgs, the European Commissioner for Development. This meeting focused on the allocation of €112 million from the 10th EDF and an envelope of €420 from the 11th EDF, for a total amount of €532 million.

Commissioner Piebalgs hoped that the signing of the Convention takes place in the shortest possible time on the sidelines of the 68th UN General Assembly in New York later this month in order to affect €112 million in the form of budgetary support on projects selected by the Government.

Prime Minister Lamothe, welcomed the willingness of the European Union (EU) for its contribution to the reconstruction of the country and is committed to putting in place the mechanisms necessary for a rational, controlled and effective use of funds.

Moreover, the Prime Minister was also received by the Haitian community in Belgium around a cocktail in a warm atmosphere. He took this opportunity to present the main achievements of the Government through an acclaimed video that led to numerous exchanges. Laurent Lamothe urged the Haitian community to come and see by itself the real changes that are in progress and thus contribute to the development of the country.
