Haiti - Social : Dark picture of the situation to the EDH
Jean Errol Morose, the new Director General of the Electricity of Haiti (EDH), painted a dark picture of the situation, citing various weaknesses in production and marketing and stressing particularly the problem of illegal connection and the clients who do not pay their bills.

Faced with this situation that lasts too long, the new Director stated that the prepaid meters would be experienced, explaining that it is the customer who will decide himself the amount of electricity that it wants to pay and consume, based on the same principle that the phone recharge cards.

In addition, he announced the upcoming deployment of "caravans" to disconnect illegal connections and of distribution of meters in the capital and other cities of province "People will see shortly, in their neighborhood, trucks of the EDH o disconnect illegal connectio and proceed to the distribution of meter to the people, especially those who already had an application [...]"

Recognizing also the need to improve infrastructure, Jean Errol Morose estimated that it will take hundreds of millions of dollars of investment to provide an acceptable service to the public, without explaining the source of funds, he believes that the state must do the necessary.
