Haiti - Security : Visit of Godson Orélus in Petit-Goâve
Friday Godson Orélus, the Director General of the National Police of Haiti, went to the town of Petit Goâve, where for more than 3 weeks, bandits are terrorizing the National #2. "The primary purpose of my visit is to see how our police officers are doing and evaluate the progress made in the context of the operation launched to date in order to defeat the bandits relatively to the action plan put in place in conjunction with the Departmental Director of the West," explained Godson Orélus in a press conference.

"I came then encourage our specialized units already in place [...] because of the difficult situation in which they find themselves. They will remain in Petit Goâve as long as necessary, until all weapons are recovered and all bandits arrested [...] we are very satisfied, we are moving slowly but surely. Our different units BIM (Motorized Intervention Brigade) UDMO (Departmental Unit of Maintenance of Order), SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) did not come joke or eat fresh marcoss in Petit-Goâve. They came resolve once and for all, the problem of insecurity [...]

We do not know for how long we are here. Legal force must triumph [...] Our goal is recovered weapons and arrest these men one by one and bring them to justice, this operation will not stop along the way, throughout the country, the bandits will be pursued [...]

Other operations will be conducted in targeted areas, other weapons will be recovered and other bandits arrested, for the town of Petit-Goâve is no longer a home of bandits and lawless area, we will change its image [...]"

Adding that those apprehended so far were being heard at the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ).
