Haiti - Social : Makòn, support and development of Limonade
The Konsèy nasyonal finansman popilè (KNFP), the Centre for citizen training and development support (CEFCAD) and the delegation of the European Union in Haiti today launched an initiative funded to the tune of €145,556 to support local development and civil society of the municipality of Limonade.

Implemented from an original approach initiated by KNFP since 2002 and entitled "Makòn" that is to say pooling, the Local development project and of support to civil society aims inter alia to establish a forum of dialogue involving both state actors that organizations of civil society to stimulate reflection on the direction of development of the area and strengthen local authorities including local councils in their role as pilot of this process in the context of local governance.

It includes among others the development of the municipal development plan of Limonade, the financing of productive micro-projects designed primarily to rural and marginalized strata, he training of local authorities and civil society.

This initiative is part of the support of the European non-state actors and local authorities (NSA-LA), and more generally of the strategy of the European Union to strengthen civil society Union, a key player of any democratic system whose action can contribute to more effective policies, equitable and sustainable development and more inclusive growth.
