Haiti - Politic : Failure in the Senate, the 3 ministers remain in office 06/11/2013 09:40:13 After more than 8 hours of interrogation and heated debate and some interruptions in sessions, Ministers provided details in response to the numerous accusations that they were targeted. Senators before the decisive vote, were divided on the modalities of the latter. Some senators of hard cores of anti governmental, demanding a global vote for the 3 ministers, the other a separate vote for each minister. Simon Dieuseul Desras, Senate President ruled and decided that the vote would be separate for each minister. Following a majority vote for a motion of censure, but not enough according to the internal rules of the Senate which stipulates that 16 votes are required, the President of the Senate to the reading of results declared "The ministers remain in office," the result of the vote is considered as a vote of confidence. Votes results : David Bazile : 14 votes for a motion of censure, 3 against, 1 abstention Pierre-Richard Casimir : 13 votes for a motion of censure, 5 against Jean Renel Sanon : 4 votes for a motion of censure, 4 against After the vote, pro-government senators have quickly left the room, leaving many losing senators, who did not fail to express their frustrations, do not hesitate to accuse their colleagues of treason for having changed of idea when voting. For Senator John Joël Joseph it is clear that "Senators have coined their vote." Steven Benoit supports the evidence that the country is ruled by one man, the President Martelly, predicting dark days for Haiti saying "The people will not tolerate you in 2014. You are going too far." Senator François Annick Joseph favorable to the interpellation for which there is no doubt "that the government has failed," said he expected this result. As to Senator Jean William Jeanty he says the country is not governed and is "on the brink of a civil war, of a goudougoudou policy." For Senator François Annick Joseph "the country is engulfed in unnecessary crises" which are solely responsible the current leaders, which he considers of bad managers of public affairs.
