Haiti - Social : Demonstration in progress... (UPDATE 6h03 pm)
In Port-au-Prince, barricades of burning tires were erected by the students of the Faculty of Ethnology, in particular on the street Magny and Magloire Ambroise. The police erected metal barriers on the edge of National Palace.

Several thousand people at the appeal of members of the opposition, now protesting against the Government on the highway of Delmas towards Petion-ville, to demand the departure of the Head of State. So far no major incidents were reported, a large police oversees the event.

In Cap-Haitien, many riot police were deployed in the streets, especially in neighborhoods that line the main street leading to Vertières at the moment the demonstration is in "pause" but intends to go to Vertières.

A little before 11 a.m., the agents of the National Police of Haiti have used tear gas to disperse groups of protesters who responded by throwing stones and bottles. Many supporters of the Government are also in the streets of Cap-Haitien.

According to a partial assessment, not yet official, there would be 3 people gunshot wounds, and many people have to go to the hospital because of the effects of tear gas, including children.

Gunshots were reported in Cité Lescot (South Entrance)

A man in his twenties (which was not a demonstrator) was wounded in the foot by a shot during a police operation in the area of La Fossette.

At Delmas 83 this afternoon, anti-Martelly demonstrators clashed with protesters pro-Martelly...

The event ended on the "place de la Constitution", at the Champs de Mars, in an apparent calm before being dispersed by police.

It should be signaled that Senator Jean-Charles Moise issued an ultimatum of 48 Hours to the Head of State, to give his resignation, calling the population to civil disobedience...

A new demonstration is planned on Friday 29 November.
