Haiti - League of Nations : Haiti wins against Nicaragua [2-0] and takes the lead
Throughout the match our Grenadiers dominated the field. In the first half Mikael Cantave at 13 'opened the scoring in favor of Haiti [1-0] on a poorly cleared ball by the Nicaraguan defense.
In 16th minute, a Canadian judge expelled the Haitian number 7, Wilde Donald Guerrier, for striking Nicaraguan player Jaime Moreno in the face.
Derrick Étienne at 31' on a header from Duckens Nazon, left no chance to Nicaraguan goalkeeper Justo Lorente, reinforcing the score in favor of Haiti [2-0].
Although outnumbered, our Grenadiers dominated the first period against aggressive "Pinoleros" who failed to break through the solid Haitian defense.
At half-time the score was [2-0] in favor of Haiti.
After the break, our Grenadiers were superior to the "Pinoleros" in all facets of the game. However, despite their efforts Grenadiers could not increase the score against the "Pinoleros" of Nicaragua who had the rage to win. In the 65', tensions between the two teams : verbal aggression and quarrels between players broke out, a tense atmosphere that prevailed until the end of the match to the score unchanged.
With 3 wins in a row, Haiti leads the League of Nations with 16 goals scored and 9 points, followed by Cuba (2nd) with 14 goals and 9 pts and Jamaica (3rd) with 11 goals and 9 points.
