Haiti - FLASH Gold Cup : Victory of the «Grenadiers» [2-1] against the «Ticos» of Costa Rica
On Monday at the Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey (USA), in the last Gold Cup Pole game, our Grenadiers already qualified for the 1/4 finals, beat predictions giving winner the "Ticos" given favorite, winning [2-1] despite a dominance of the ball by the "Ticos" 71% and the number of passes 543 (accuracy of 86%) against 227 for our Grenadiers (precision 68%)

Our Grenadiers had started badly the first period, after a mess with a badly negotiated ball by Djimy Bent Alexis, on an attack of the "Ticos" who scored a goal against his own side at the 13' opening the score in favor of Costa Rica [0-1]

At the the retuen of the locker rooms, dominators the "Ticos" were too confident of their superiority. With good tactics and good discipline our Grenadiers prevented the "Ticos" from scoring a single goal during the whole game and took the lead over the favorite team.

Duckens Nazon, finally found the egalization on a penalty in the 56th, [1-1] then Alexis enjoying an opening, on the left side, bought his goal against his side in the first period, defeating the defense Costa Rican and scoring a second goal for Haiti at 81' [2-1]. No other goal will be scored, despite 5 minutes of overtime.

A historic victory, since this is the first time that Haiti wins all matches in the Pool phase in an official competition.

With this exploit, Haiti has made a faultless in the last 3 games, takes the first place in Group B, avoids face to face with Mexico and will face in the quarter finals the "Canucks" of Canada (2nd in Group A with 3 games, 3 wins and 9 points) Saturday, June 29 at 9 at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas
