Haiti - FLASH : Haiti qualified for the Women's World Cup after its victory [2-1] against Chile (Video)
Tuesday February 22, 2023 (in Haiti, -6 p.m. time difference, Wednesday in Auckland) as part of the play-offs for the 9th Edition of the FIFA Women's World Cup, Australia and New Zealand 2023, our Grenadières on the lawn of the "North Harbor Stadium" in Auckland, New Zealand, faced in the final of the play-offs, the "Reds" of Chile, a match which our girls brilliantly won [2-1] qualifying at senior level for the World Championship thanks to 2 legendary goals by Melchie Daelle Dumornay (19) aka "Corventina", a historic first qualification for Haitian women's football.

Grenadières starting 11:

Goalkeepers :
#1 Theus Kerly: FC Miami City (USA)

Defenders :
#20 Kethna Louis: Stade De Reims (France)
#14 Claire Constant: SCU Toreense (Portugal)
#13 Betina Petit-Frere: Stade Brestois 29 (France)
#4 Tabita Joseph: Stade Brestois 29 (France)

Midfilders :
#3 Jennyfer Limage: Grenoble Foot 38 (France)
#9 Sherly Jeudy: Grenoble Foot 38 (France)
#6 Melchie Daelle Dumornay: Stade De Reims (France)

Attackers :
#7 Batcheba Louis, FC Fleury 91 (France)
#10 Nerilia Mondesir: Montpellier HSC (France)
#22 Roselord Borgella: FC Nantes (France)

Faced with a technically better organized Chilean selection which had = possession of the ball throughout the game, our Grenadières bet on the speed of execution of the attackers and the counter-attacks, a winning strategy for Haiti

"Corventina" opened the scoring in favor of Haiti in extra time of the first period on a pass from Roselord Borgella 45'+1 [1-0]. She scored the winning goal and her double at 90'+8 on a Nérilia Mondésir pass alias "Nérigol" [2-0]

Maria José Rojas saved Chile's reds from humiliation by reducing the score to 90'+11 [2-1]

Haiti will find itself at the World Cup in Group D with very strong opponents like England, Denmark and the Republic of China.
