Haiti - FLASH : Our Grenadiers winners against Canada [1-0] are qualified for the semi-final
Thursday, August 10, 2023 in the quarter-finals of the Men's U-15 Championship of the Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) our young Grenadiers U-15 (league A) , faced "The Reds" of Canada (given favorite) on the lawn of the Olympic Stadium Felix Sanchez, in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.

Throughout the match, Eddy César's players valiantly resisted the onslaught of the Canadians who largely dominated the game, but who failed to shake Charleston Domond's nets. Our Grenadiers have repeatedly shown themselves to be very dangerous in their attacks.

At the end of the first period the score was still [0-0].

Upon returning from the locker room our Grenadiers created several chances without being able to materialize them, one had until 55' for Bill Meranvil opened the scoring for Haiti on a pass from Franco Celestin [1-0], with an unstoppable shot at the entrance to the penalty area which leaves the Canadian goalkeeper without reaction.

Score unchanged at the end of the match.

Thanks to the goal scored by Bill Meranvil, our Grenadiers (double champion of the CFU Challenge series 2021 and 2022) offered Canada and qualified for the semi-finals where they will face the United States victorious over Guatemala [4-1] . United States which had won the group stage victory against Haiti [3-0] https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-40211-haiti-flash-humiliated-by-the-usa-[3-0]-haiti-remains-qualified-for-the-1-4-finals.html on a ground soaked by the heavy rains barely passable from the Pan-American Stadium of San Cristóbal which considerably handicapped the games of our Grenadiers.

The time for revenge has come, Grenadiers on the attack!

For this quarter-finals, compared to the last two outings against Qatar and the United States, coach Eddy César has made only one change, it is the scorer of the victory (1-0 ) against Qatar, Angelo Lauré, rewarded with a tenure in attack, replacing Jackson Saintinord.
