Haiti - U-17 Women's Championship : Victory for Haiti [5-3] against El Salvador, qualifies for the semi-finals
Saturday February 3rd, 2024, for their second Pool match of the U-17 Women's Championship of the Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF), qualifier for the 2024 World Cup in the category, our Grenadières in Group A, after their victory [2-1] against the "Ticas" of Costa Rica offered themselves a great victory against the "Cuscatlecas" of El Salvador [5-3]

Starting XI:
You don't change a winning team, Haiti's U17 women's coach Marc Ogé decided to compose his team against El Salvador with the same players as during the victory against Costa Rica.

Haiti started well this encounter, in the 4' minute Desert Dominique opened [1-0] then Lourdjina Etienne pushed the score to 9' in favor of Haiti [2-0].

El Salvador reduced the score in the 12th minute thanks to Hailey Hernandez, who took a free kick well outside the area [2-1]

Score unchanged at half-time

Returning from the locker room Haiti found itself limited in its own half most of the time, but Lourdjina Etienne pushed back two defenders and scored a right-footed shot in the 77' [3-1].

Once again the "Cuscatlecas" reduced the scores, thanks to a goal from Keila Lino on a free kick and scored in the 81' [3-2].

But Lourdjina Etienne scored her hat-trick in the 85th minute, widening the gap again [4-2].

El Salvador made a final push thanks to a late red card for Haiti, and Hernandez scored his double of the day with a free kick in the 90' reducing the gap [4-3]

But this match was that of Etienne, who scored his fourth goal by avoiding defenders twice and scoring the final goal [5-3] in added time at 90'+4

Dominique Désert (4’)
Lourdjina Etienne: 9’ 79’ 86’ 90’+4

El Salvador:
Hailey Leilani Hernandez: 12´, 90´
J Torres: 81’.

First objective achieved for Marc Ogé and his team, there remains the ticket for the world championship to be obtained and this necessarily involves qualifying for the final because it is the two finalists of the Toluca tournament who will join the FIFA World Cup (October 26 to November 3, 2024) in the Dominican Republic (host country).

Provisional classification (Group A):
#1 Mexico 6 points (+4)
#2 Haiti 6 points (+3)
#3 Costa Rica 0 points (eliminated)
#4 El Salvador 0 points (eliminated)

Next and last group match:
On February 5, our Grenadières will face the "Tricolor" of Mexico (Host Country) at 3:00 a.m. (4:00 p.m. Haiti time)
