At the start of the second half, trailing 1-0 to Morocco, French coach Malou Quignette replaced Déborah Bien-Aimé with Bethina Petit-Frère. This change had no effect against the dominance of the Atlas Lionesses, which was confirmed by a goal from Ghizlane Chebbak in the 49th minute (2-0) after a well-constructed attack down the right flank against a faltering Haitian defense. Ibtissam Jraidi, playing with great attacking intent, extended Morocco's lead with a goal in the 70th minute [3-0], a scoreline that remained unchanged at the end of regulation time.
