Haiti - Politic : Important Inter-ministerial Delegation in Pointe-à-Raquette
Friday, under the vision of President Michel Martelly, to provide the country, in particular the communes, of tools needed for their development and an adequate supervision to facilitate their growth, an important inter-ministerial delegation, chaired by the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation (MPCE), composed of Ms. Mimose Félix, Minister for the Promotion of the peasantry, Ms. Rose Anne Auguste Minister Delegate in charge of Human Right and the fight against extreme poverty, of Deputy of the Gonâve, Béguens Théus and representatives of ministries of Health, of theAgriculture, of the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES), went on the island of La Gonâve, in particular in Pointe-à-Raquette in order to collect the grievances of the people to prepare an action plan for the development of the island.

This meeting, to which took part fifty members of the community, including the Mayor of the city pursued the same objectives as that of 10 January in the town of Anse-à-Galets ie make a thorough assessment of needs to act effectively to the welfare of citizens.

After several hours of discussions with members of the delegation, the residents of Pointe-à-Raquette were able to express their concerns about justice and security, education, agriculture, and the transport, health and sports infrastructure.

They asked the government to foster the immediate intervention of the police to ensure the safety of maritime transport ; the construction of a community restaurant in Pointe à Raquette ; the strengthening of fishermen's organizations by providing training, financial and technical support to facilitate the development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the fishing industry.

Residents of Pointe-à-Raquette, which were satisfied with the meeting with the delegation also took the opportunity to emphasize the need to continue the construction of high schools in the area, the development of the health system, the intervention of the Ministry of Public Works Transport and Communications (MTPTC) in the improvement of transport conditions and the pursuit of public lighting process initiated by the Government Martelly/Lamothe.
