Haiti - Politic : President Martelly has been received at the Elysee 22/02/2014 09:26:46
This meeting was attended in the presence, on the French of Victorin Lurel, the Minister of Overseas and Yamina Benguigui, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Territories responsible for la Francophonie and Pierre Richard Casimir, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Wilson Laleau, Minister of Economy and Finance on the Haitian side. This meeting allowed the President Martelly to express its appreciation to the Government and to the French people for their support to Haiti. It was also an opportunity for the Head of State to discuss the progress of Haiti in recent years in the areas of security, investment, economic growth and freedom of the press. The Head of State, which calls for Haitians take control of their destiny has clearly defined its priority in the context of cooperation with the Hexagon "See French companies to settle in Haiti, to take advantage of multiple business opportunities offered by the country and create jobs and wealth is the objective of my administration. What my country needs today is partnership and not a assistantships," declared the President Martelly.  The President of the Republic has also sought the support of the French in the areas of education, vocational training and safety. For its part, President François Hollande was very satisfied with the achievements of the Administration Martelly and showed great interest in the new direction taken by the Haitian diplomacy. The French President is disposed to accompany Haiti in the organization of the next elections. He also mentioned the cultural wealth. The recent election of the writer Dany Laferrière to the French Academyas well as the Francophonie was on the agenda between the two heads of state. After this meeting about an hour and a half, the President Martelly has invited his counterpart President Holland, to come to Haiti. A proposal that the French President has responded positively, promising to honor this request at its next tour in the Caribbean. President Francois Hollande : "[...] Haiti has full project for the future, including education and France will be at his side, so that not only the French language but also knowledge can be shared. We also told our availability to facilitate the organization of the state, justice, the law shall prevail and there too, cooperation with our training schools will be carried out, so that Haiti can also restore its state and prepare elections, which are already planned for 2014.
