Haiti - Economy : Natcom denies rumors of acquisition by Digicel

Wednesday at a press conference in the office of Natcom, Trien Nguyen Dang, the CEO of the Natcom, categorically denied the rumors that have been circulating for almost a month at his competitor distributors, leaving believe that Digicel intends to purchase the Natcom. Riding on this false rumor, the distributors of Digicel taking advantage, according to him, to propose the exchange of phones Natcom against those of its competitor.

Nguyen Dang Trien qualifies this practice of unfair competition and these business practices of abusive. Indicating that despite several meetings on this subject, with the National Council of Telecommunications (Conatel), Digicel refused to obey to the orders of the Council andcontinued his practice.

CEO of Natcom stressed the good financial health of the company, which has registered more than 200,000 new customers during the 6 first month of the year. Stressing that the services of Natcom covers 95% of the population and that all municipalities have access to the internet, through the deployment across the country of over than 600 km of optical fiber.

Trien Nguyen Dang affirmed that he would continue to fight against these unfair practices in compliance with the standards and the law and took advantage of this conference to indicate that Natcom would soon test the true 4G in Haiti under the license granted by CONATEL to Natcom.
