Haiti - Telecommunications : Interconnection Agreement between Digicel and Natcom
Thursday, September 1st, the Senate Commission of Public Works, Transport and Communications, presided by Senator Jean William Jeanty (Nippes) had auditioned Maarten Boute, CEO of Digicel, around the problem of interconnection between Digicel and the company National Communication (Natcom).

Mr. Boute had expressed the willingness of his company to realize the interconnection with the Natcom, but that it was necessary to address the technical and commercial problems before. Affirming that the representatives of the Digicel are willing to participate to the new meeting and that the problem could be resolved quickly, within one week after that an agreement has been reached.

At a second meeting of the Senate Commission, yesterday september 6, with the National Council of Telecommunications (Conatel), mobile phone companies Natcom and Digicel have announced having found an agreement for interconnection.

Natcom company took the opportunity to announce that it will proceed on Wednesday night at the official launch of its operations, at a press conference to be held at the Karibe Convention Center.
