Haiti - Security : School Violence, 2 students stabbed... 07/03/2015 08:24:59 Profoundly alarmed by the increase in violence within the school youth particularly in high schools, the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) appeals to all stakeholders, especially parents, on the need to better supervise young people to prevent acts of violence regrettable and unacceptable. The Ministry is particularly dismayed by the acts of aggression perpetrated Tuesday 3 and Thursday, March 5, 2015, against students of the Lycée Fritz Pierre-Louis, whose two were stabbed by other young people. Fortunately, the lives of these students is not in danger, according to medical authorities. "The MENFP ask officials of high schools, along with faculty and students to take all steps to punish all forms of violence, while organizing working sessions around non-violence, dialogue and the sense of respect for life. The school principals should provide the leadership of their institution and ensure that there are no drift that can prevent the effective operation of their school." Meanwhile the curriculum reform, which will allow to develop a better focus on education, citizenship and other supervisory measures psychology for students, MENFP calls for vigilant citizen action of all, to anticipate these acts of violence that tends to be trivialized.
