Postponement of political party financing...
Friday, Jean Fritz Jean-Louis, the Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister responsible for electoral matters, announced, to less than 15 days of the first round of legislative (August 9) the postponement of political party financing ensuring that all authorized parties would receive a sum of money, without specifying when or the reasons for the delay...

OPL accuses the Executive to prepare an electoral coup
Sauveur Pierre Etienne, General Coordinator and candidate for the presidency of the Organization of People in Struggle (OPL), denounced the involvement of the executive in electoral violence recorded in several parts of the country. He accused those in power of having distributed weapons everywhere, in order to achieve an electoral coup. He called on President Michel Martelly to recover, to avoid plunging the country into chaos.

The European Observation Mission is deployed
The Electoral Observation Mission of the European Union (EU EOM) began deploying 22 observers in 10 departments of the country for the upcoming elections on August 9 "This is the beginning of the field presence of the EOM. This is above all to have a qualifier sample of what is happening in the whole country," declared Jose Antonio de Gabriel, the Deputy Mission Chief of the Observation Mission EU-EOM, adding "We hope not to regret too many incidents. We want like all Haitians, peaceful elections," and recalling that the functions of these observers are on the one hand, to check the neutrality of the electoral administration, its impartiality and degree of transparency. In the elections observers will increase from 22 to 70.

Moreover, Elena Valenciano, MEP, Head of the EU-EOM specified "We have neither the ability nor the interest to act on the results, insisted Ms. Valenciano, obviously aware of the concern of some national players face the interference of a part of the international community in the electoral process in the past. You do not come here to give lessons [...] but humbly facilitate the smooth running of the electoral process."

Political parties lack space on the electoral scene
Wednesday, Clarens Renois, the presidential candidate of the party "UNIR" urged the President of the Republic to take the necessary steps to allow other political parties to participate in elections fairly "We note that the parties in power and those close to power, occupy the entire electoral scene," considering that "It is not the responsibility of the Head of State to campaign for its own candidates, leaving others in chaos."
