Haiti - Culture : Fortnight of activities for the 80 years of Frankétienne 12/04/2016 10:23:33
This fortnight will begin Tuesday, April 12 with an exhibition of books of Frankétienne and on Frankétienne, texts retracing the writer's journey as well as texts on the "spiralisme" literary movement founded in 1965 which is one of the leaders. The film evokes the earthquake that devastated Port-au-Prince January 12, 2010, through the voice of the greatest living Haitian poet, Frankétienne, and his prescient piece "Le piège". Shot in the great cathedral in ruins of Port-au-Prince, the film is a song of life and death, a poetic response to the tragedy and despair of a people. Friday, April 15 at 5:00 p.m. Room FOKAL UNESCO (Free admission) Screening of a video portrait of Frankétienne directed by Gessica Généus with Frankétienne, Michèle Pierre-Louis, Wilson Paulemond and Paula Clermont Péan. After the screening, Michèle Pierre-Louis will evoke her path with Frankétienne. Wilson Paulemond, professor of philosophy, normalien supérieur and Master 2 in Philosophy as part of the partnership between the ENS and Paris 8, will present the work of Frankétienne from three angles - philosophical, scientific and literary - and analyze his work on words as particles of pleasurable pleasure, Gordian knots of the spiral.
