Haiti - Politic : The deputies go on vacation, reassured 10/05/2016 10:36:01 21 senators (out of 24) and 82 deputies (out of 92) were present at the roll call of that Assembly chaired by Cholzer Chancy, President of the Chamber of Deputies together with the Vice-President of the Senate Ronald Larèche [President a.i. of the Senate since the departure of Privert] who sat as Vice President of the Assembly. At the beginning of the session, several parliamentarians wished the lower house does not leave on vacation, expressing the fear of more than one deputy, that the President a.i. Jocelerme Privert take advantage of their absence to dissolve parliament, with the help of the Verification Commission in order to stay in power beyond the terms of the agreement of 5 February. Cholzer Chancy, in order to dispel the concerns of his colleagues, face the electoral Verification Commission stated "The Nation has taken note of the formation of a presidential commission for the evaluation of electiuons of 2015. I remind the Commissioners of that Commission, that the legitimacy and the duration of our mandate [as parliamentarian] are guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the Republic. Therefore, no Presidential Commission of any nature whatsoever, can challenge our mandate under the principle of separation of powers enshrined through Articles 60 and 60.1 of the Constitution," statements very applauded... This is the Deputy Abel Descolines and Senator François Lucas St-Vil who presented the "balance" of their respective House for that first regular session. At the end of this Assembly, the Senate will continues to sit permanently as usual and deputies are left on vacation to be back Monday, June 13, 2016. Cholzer Chancy, wishing happy vacation to his fellow deputies, asked them to be available to meet if necessary for any convocation to the extraordinary of the President of the Republic.
