Haiti - Justice : The CSPJ call to order the judges of the Court of Cassation 20/10/2016 09:25:24 Note that the Court of Cassation t is not the only entity to take a public position in this matter, the National Association of Haitian Magistrates (ANAMAH), union body responsible for bringing the claims of judges, acknowledged in a statement of Judge Durin Duret, President of ANAMAH, "the right of the Court of Cassation to demand the replacement of de facto President Jocelerme Privert. Privert leading only by force." CSPJ letter to the judges of the Court of Cassation : "[...] Having learned with astonishment, through the press, the press note and the resolution signed by the Honourable Judges of the Court of Cassation of the Republic, the members of the Superior Council of the Judiciary, the signatories of this, believe it is imperative for the respect the principles of ethics and professional conduct, to fix their position. The signatories of this letter, members of the Superior Council of the Judiciary, administrative body, of control, discipline and deliberation of the Judicial Power, declare that the Judges of the Court of Cassation by publicly taking such a position deviated of the sacrosanct principles of neutrality, of impartiality and independence that characterizes the exercise of the function of magistrate. Consequently, the signatories of this position of the Superior Council of the Judiciary are entitled to recall and, in fact, they remind the Judges of the Court of Cassation to recover and avoid ending up in such a situation prejudicial to the smooth functioning of the judiciary in its entirety.
