End of the challenge period Friday
The Executive Director of the Provisional Electoral Council, informs the general public, parties, political groups and candidates in particular that, according to articles 175 and 183 of the Electoral Decree in force, the challenges filing are to be done within 72 hours from the posting of preliminary results. Accordingly, given that the preliminary results were posted on Tuesday 29 November at 10 am, the deadline for challenging the preliminary results of the presidential elections will expire on Friday, 2 December 2016, at 10 am. The Registry of the Office of the Electoral Litigation will remain open during the night from Thursday 1 to Friday 2 December, until the expiry of the deadline. The Executive Board urges all parties, political groups and candidates to file their challenges within the strict deadline.
