Haiti - Policy : Training of Executives of municipal accounting services
Monday, 13 February, Jude Saint-Natus, Director General of the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities, accompanied by Pierre Hérold Étienne, Director General of the Ministry of the Economy and Finance, and Antoine Verdier Coordinator of the Office of Management and Human Resources (OMRH), proceeded in the presence of the members of the Commission of accounting standardization in the town halls, to the launch of a training seminar for the executives of the accounting and financial departments of 10 town halls in the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince and the West.

Public accounting, local finance, resource management and the procurement process are among the topics to be discussed during this seminar, which will take place from 13 to 24 February.

During this meeting, experts and technicians from the Ministries of the Interior, Economy and Planning, as well as OMRH and the Superior Court of Auditors and Administrative Disputes (CSC / CA) will intervene.

"Training in accounting standardization is important for the strengthening and development of town halls. These new skills will strengthen the performance of municipalities and are the culmination of many years of implementation," stressed Jude Saint-Natus, who said he was pleased with the efforts to establish the territorial public service and effective decentralization. Inviting the beneficiaries of this training "to cultivate a sense of responsibility and transparency, with a view to being the guardians of the local finances for the good development of the communes."
