Haiti - Economy : Inaugural flight of Sunrise Airways (PAP-Havana)
Thursday, Sunrise Airways, the Haitian commercial airline, inaugurated its flight to Havana with the arrival of its new Air Bus 320 at the José Marti International Airport (Havana, Cuba) from Port-au-Prince.

At a press conference at the Saratoga Hotel in Havana, Camagüey, the President of Sunrise Airways confirmed that the frequency of travel will be twice a week on Thursday and Sunday. He recalled that his airline already served Santiago de Cuba and Camagüey, and that with Havana it was the third destination that serves Sunrise in Cuba.

"Our bi-weekly Port-au-Prince-Havana link in our brand new Airbus A320 is launched https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-19865-icihaiti-sunrise-airways-commissioning-of-an-airbus-a320.html Rising to 3 the number of flights to Cuba, after Santiago de Cuba and Camagüey.

Sunrise Airways continues to connect the main Caribbean focal points through our main hub of Port-au-Prince. We offer multi-destination as a springboard to facilitate Caribbean tourist and trade exchanges. Sunrise Airways, the only 100% Haitian air carrier, is even more focused on its mission to offer you wings to your best destinations," declared the airline company.

In his speech, Geri Benoit, the Haitian Ambassador to Cuba, recalled the ideas and initiatives of the late President Fidel Castro, who had urged the Cuban missions to support Haiti. He said that tourism is also part of development and commented the work carried out with the Cuban Ministry of Trade and Foreign Investment to promote trade relations between the two countries.
