Haiti - REMINDER : Preliminary steps for Police aspirants

Recruitment to become a police officer is done in accordance with the recruitment guidelines in effect since 1999. These are Directives 062 and 064, which clearly describe police integration procedures.

The recruitment process is permanent. Any police aspirant, regardless of gender, can apply in one of the 16 police stations across the country, namely 6 in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince and 10 in the administrative centers of the "chefs-lieux" of departments.

Criteria for selection of files :

a) Be a national of Haiti;

b) Be at least 18 and 30 years at most, at the time of registration;

c) Have never been sentenced to afflictive or infamous;

d) Have a size of at least 1.67 meters for men and 1.60 meters for women;

e) A minimum of an intellectual level equivalent to 9th Fundamental Year.

- Required documents :

a) The original and a photocopy of the birth certificate or extract archives;

b) The original and a photocopy of (or of) school diplomas, degrees or professional;

c) A criminal record dating less than 3 months;

d) A medical certificate from a general practitioner licensed by the Ministry of Public Health;

e) Four recent and identical identity photos.
