Haiti - Politics : Moïse spoke with UN Deputy Secretary-General
On the sidelines of his address to the general debate of the 72nd Ordinary Session of the UN General Assembly (New York) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-22187-haiti-flash-jovenel-moise-evokes-the-army-of-haiti-at-the-tribune-of-the-un.html , President Jovenel Moïse, met with Amina J. Mohammed, the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General who was accompanied for the occasion by Josette Sheeran, the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Haiti. At this meeting was discussed the priorities of the Administration and the Government of Haiti, as well as the necessary adjustments to the framework of cooperation between Haiti and the United Nations.

Moïse explained the priorities of his administration in particular: the management of surface water; road and social infrastructure; the reform of public administration; the construction of the national electricity grid; the production of renewable energies and measures to maintain stability and attract investment to create jobs.

He also stressed the need for urgent reinforcement of the fight against cholera through an important and direct commitment to the National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA).

For their part, the UN interlocutors took note of the explanations of President Moïse andAmina J. Mohammed confirmed that she will soon go to Haiti as part of the ight against the elimination of cholera. The UN Deputy Secretary-General confirmed that she was considering concrete actions with immediate effect for better coordination of the actions of the United Nations system in Haiti during the post-Minustah transition, both in the cholera field and in infrastructure and State reform programs.
