Haiti - Politic : Follow-up meeting of the declaration of intent of Wallonia-Brussels
On March 27th, the Directorate of External Cooperation (DCE) of the Ministry of Planning organized an intersectoral meeting to follow the declaration of intent between the Republic of Haiti, the French community of Belgium and Wallonia. https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-22760-icihaiti-politic-strengthening-of-the-cooperation-with-wallonia-brussels.html

This meeting brought together representatives of various sectoral ministries and autonomous organizations, including the State University of Haiti (UEH) and the Electricity of Haiti (EDH), whose objective was to collect files stemming from the Call for proposals for projects for the new five-year period (2018-2023) as part of the preparation of the 5th Standing Joint Commission Haiti / Wallonia-Brussels scheduled June 11 and 12 in Port-au-Prince.

As a reminder, in this declaration of intent, signed on November 20, 2017, the parties undertook to develop a 5-year cooperation program that will have an impact on sustainable development in Haiti and more particularly on training and youth employment in rural areas.

Indeed, in accordance with the recommendations made in Haiti's Strategic Development Plan (PSDH), Haiti and the Wallonia region intend to implement their future cooperation for the period 2018-2023 in the field of vocational and technical training and this in complementarity with the program of the Association for the Promotion of Education and Training Abroad (APEFE) of Belgian development cooperation and other initiatives aimed at self-employment, particularly in the field of Agriculture.
