Haiti - FLASH : PNH in action in anticipation of new troubles
On Thursday in a note, Chief Commissioner Marceau Georges, Commander ai of the Corps of Motorized Intervention Brigades (CBIM) informs his police officers and administrative staff, that "following the mass movements and popular tensions that the country experienced in recent days, it has been decided by the High Command to suspend all holidays (annual, special, etc...) until further notice.

Its full workforce is convened in uniform on Friday, July 13 and Saturday, July 14, 2018 at CBIM Base for deployment at various points. In this circumstance, any absence will be severely punished in accordance with the General Discipline Regulations of the National Police of Haiti (PNH)."

In addition, the Inspector General Jean Miguélite Maximé, Director of Cabinet of Michel-Ange Gédéon, the Director General of the PNH sent a correspondence to the Central and Departmental Directors specifying the following provisions :

"Please, upon receipt of this, modify your security plan by strengthening the protection of public buildings, including the offices of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) and Customs (Ports and Airports), the OAVCT, Immigration and all facilities and buildings of strategic importance such as the Electricity of Haiti (EDH), the National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation, etc..."

Without being explicit in these correspondence, there is no doubt that the interpellation session of Prime Minister and his ministerial cabinet on Saturday, 14 July, at 10 am in the Parliament,is the motivating reason of the PNH, which expects popular tensions with the risks of slippage that entails.
