Haiti - Politic : The UN prevents DR of consequences of massive expulsions of Haitians 31/08/2018 09:24:01 Vásquez reminded that evictions are under the government's powers, but that beyond the Dominican Republic uses a Haitian workforce (about 5%, source CEPALC 2017) in several areas (construction, agriculture and tourism among others...) She recognizes that the PNRE has achieved its goal, but that it had limits, because on the one hand, very many Haitians had problems with Haiti, failing to obtain the required documents and all other Haitians in an irregular migratory situation on the Dominican territory did not register within the deadlines granted by the Dominican authorities for various reasons. It should be noted that since the closure of the PNRE, the Dominican government has shown no sign of a massive repatriation program.
