Haiti - Politic : The Deputy Gary Bodeau, launches a patriotic appeal to the Nation
At the end of the protest day on November 18, the Deputy of Delmas Gary Bodeau, Speaker of the Lower House, made a patriotic appeal to the Nation to save what can still be, which we invite you to share :

Excerpts from Deputy Gary Bodeau's Nation Appeal :

"In the name of the Homeland and Democracy I appeal the protagonists to a patriotic surge to save what can still be.

It is obvious to everyone that the country, embroiled in crises of all kinds, is moving towards imprecise issues that can not be of benefit to any of the parties that generate or fuel them [...]

The State falls apart in an abdication of its responsibilities and authority to the benefit of armed groups who impose their law [...] The insecurity is in full swing and challenges police forces that lack the means to counter it efficiently and sustainably. Various sectors of the national life express their discontent in demonstrations which often slide towards the vandalism, the plundering and the 'déchoucage' [...] The idle youth seeks an outlet to its exclusion of the management of the Republic. While the forces of the nation flee the national territory in search of more lenient skies. The country is dying slowly, inexorably.

On this obvious and manifest political crisis is grafted and fed an economic and financial crisis [...] It is read in a deepening of the poverty of working classes and the middle classes, in a run-down depreciation of the national currency which reduces to almost nothing the purchasing power of the wage-earners, not to mention the mass of the unemployed which is widening every day and slipping towards indigence [...]

[...] I strongly encourage the Government, and particularly the monetary authorities, to take courageous and immediate measures beyond the periodic patching without lasting effect, in order to stop the accelerated deterioration of the economic and financial situation [. ..] In this fragile political context crossed by all the uncertainties, it is urgent to slow down the depreciation of the gourde, to mitigate the inflationary pressures that it engenders, to fight the expensive cost of living which plunges the most vulnerable into the pangs of poverty and misery.

[...] We must do everything, together and in the most honest loyalty to the homeland and immortal, to prevent this double political and economic crisis, catalyzing each other, to lead our country to upheavals with incalculable consequences. And this is the meaning of my appeal to this dialogue to prevent and correct what happily can still be.
