Haiti - Education : Concerns about preparations for organizing State Examinations

Thursday, a working meeting on the state of preparations for the validation of candidates for State exams, between Meniol Jeune, the Director General of the Ministry of National Education and heads of entities involved in the State exams unfolded with great concern. In question, the delays accumulated at the level of the Departmental Directorates of the Center and Artibonite, due to a persistent strike movement of some employees for several weeks.

The future of several thousand candidates is threatened by the systematic refusal of collaboration of these employees while the Department has already responded to the main expectations of salary alignment of those concerned. And that the file follows its course at the Ministry of Finance pointed Meniol Jeune, recalling that these employees continue to collect their salary monthly without providing the service for which they are paid. He indicated that actions will be considered if the employees in question do not come to their senses to facilitate the return to normal and unblock the process of registration of candidates.

In addition : the communication to be continued around the new dates of the official exams, the awareness campaign to be carried out around the provisions relating to the renovated Secondary and the subjects, subject of examinations in New Secondary 4 (NS4), the date to communicate for the early tests in NS3 were the other agenda items discussed during this working session.

Reminder : New modified school calendar :
Control 3 : 18 to 22 March 2019;
Control 4 : 17 to 28 June 2019;
9th fundamental year exams : June 24-26, 2019;
Examinations of the teacher school (Ecoles normales d’instituteurs - ENI) : 24 to 28 June 2019;
Examinations of Family Education Centers : June 24 to 28, 2019;
Exit Examinations (end of secondary studies) : July 8th to 12th, 2019
