Haiti - Politic : Resumption of discussions with the moderate and radical opposition
Following the failure of mediation with the opposition to the Apostolic Nunciature (the diplomatic seat of the Vatican) last December https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-29551-haiti-flash-crisis-failure-of-the-mediation-to-the-apostolic-nunciature.html , a new session (except unforeseen) of exchanges, opens this Wednesday at the nunciature with representatives of President Moïse, signatories of the Kinam agreement (opposition moderate), that of the Marriott (radical opposition) and members of civil society, with a view to reaching a solution to end the crisis, which does not necessarily mean forming a government of consensus, clarified one of the participants. These discussions should last 3 days...

According to our sources, leaders of political parties independent of these agreements and members of the international community will also take part in this meeting.

Reacting to the announcement that signatories to the Mariott agreement would be around the table at this meeting, André Michel, a fierce opponent of President Moïse and Spokesperson for the radical opposition of the so-called "Democratic and Popular Movement" recognizes the right of certain signatories to participate in their own name in these exchanges, stating, however, that neither the "Democratic and Popular Mvement" nor the "Consensual Alternative" will participate in these discussions, continuing to refuse any collaboration with a possible Government of national union with Moses and now invariably as a prerequisite the resignation of the Head of State.

Clarens Renois, the leader of the "UNIR" party, welcomes the opening of a dialogue between the Executive and the radical opposition with a view to reaching a political agreement, hoping that the participants will rise above their interests. personal for the good of the Nation.
