Haiti - Politic : 81 for, 7 abstentions, 0 against, Haiti has finally its Prime Minister 15/10/2011 10:01:27
At the roll call of Deputies, 88 were present. "... I think that the assembly is edified, I ask all colleagues who agree, every deputy who agreed with the statement of general policy of the Prime Minister, those for raise your hand, the deputies who are against, the deputies who abstain" declared Sorel Jacinthe President of the Senate. The First Secretary announced the voting results: "...7 abstentions, 0 against, 81 for" Following this result the President of the Senate spoke to the Prime Minister "Prime Minister, the office and all the team gives you its congratulations. We believe that the vote that the GChamber of Deputies has given you today, I think you know that this is not a blank check, especially when a vote is massive. Mr the Prime Minister, we have confidence in you [...] we say to you good luck. We are with you but, be careful the world looks at you and the country expects much from you." The Prime Minister, Dr. Garry Conille then spoke to the Assembly of Deputies "...Mrs. members of the Bureau, honorable deputies, I will not be too long, it's almost 14 hours of debates which are for me a truly historic event, thank you very much for the confidence you have placed in me, on behalf of my colleagues I want to thank you for the confidence you have placed in us, we do not take it as a blank check, on the contrary, we heard the reserves, advice, questions, and we pledge today to continue the work, dialogue, discussion, because as I said in the document the people can not wait longer. Thank you so much" declared the new Prime Minister of Haiti, Dr. Garry Conille.
