Haiti - Politic : The Senator Jeanty against the publication of the constitutional amendment 29/12/2011 08:52:08
The Senator Jeanty stated yesterday "...We are completely opposed to the publication of the constitutional amendment for several reasons, the first reason is that we believe it does not respect the Constitution in the way it was done, because the Constitution since its introduction, explains clearly that whatever the decision that is made in the country, it must be taken with the participation of all individuals but, we are aware that the way this amendment was made, there was no participation, this was done in haste, in the disorde to the point that [the parliamentarians] voted articles that that have not been written [HL note 1] it is after that the writing was made, this explains the confusion. Sure enough, when they published it [the amendment] there was a group of deputies and senators who denied and returned it. Now we learn in a very funny manner, here is a team person who corrected it, for us it is another scandal, because it is not everyone that can act on an official act in this way, to correct it. Of what right the Civil Society Initiative [HL note 2], the President of the Senate, the Chamber of Deputies have corrected an act that was passed ?
