Haiti - Economy : First positive impact of the e-governance advocated by the President Martelly
The President Michel Martelly launched Tuesday, January 31, the modernization project of creation process of a limited company, on the initiative of the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MCI). In the presence, among other of : Wilson Laleau, Minister of Commerce, parliamentarians and personalities operating in the business, the Head of State promised its full support for the realization of this ambitious project which will reduce the number of days to start a business in Haiti, as a limited company, from 105 to 10 days.

This modernization project, a first in the history of the Haitian Public Administration, is part of the program of e-governance established by the current team in power. The new project aims to make the reengineering and computerization of steps associated with the creation of a limited company while meeting prescribed in the current legislation and will require the creation of new laws, including that of the electronic signature. Using modern technology, the MCI will be responsible for the operationalization of the various stages of this project, with the active support of the various actors involved directly and indirectly in the process.

Confident that this project will encourage job creation, one of the four "E" of its political program, the Head of State continues require of the members of his government, concrete results to improve the environment of business in the country where there are lots of opportunities, remaining convinced that we must work hard to put Haiti on the world map of business.

"...The poor rankings are harmful to the image [of Haiti] and are not likely to attract large flows of foreign direct investment circulating in the region," asserted the President Martelly " [...] Since I took office I asked my Government to identify and remove obstacles in the view of turning Haiti into a chosen land for productive investment, only guarantee of decent and sustainable jobs. [...] My commitment here before you today is to put an end to this situation. In my speech to Parliament on January 9, I gave the task to the government to take all necessary actions to improve the business environment. I am pleased to see that people of good will involved in this process of business creation, gathered at the initiative of Minister of Trade and Industry to address these problems and solve them as soon as possible Want to pass from 105 days to 10 days is a challenge that together we are capable of meeting. I have confidence in you to carry out this project, I urge all Ministries and agencies involved in this process of modernization of the business environment, to follow suit without delay for the full success of this project.

I take this opportunity to solicit already the full support of the members of the legislative and judicial power for the organization of Estates General on investment announced by the Minister Laleau [March 13-14, 2012]. We must now begin the process leading to the adoption and implementation of these reforms.

The Haitian people had has confidence in us, it is our duty and our responsibility to not disappoint it. We must do everything in our power to improve its level of well being and restore its dignity. Stable employment, decent and sustainabl is and will always be the best form of social security that a state can provide a citizen."

According to the wishes of the government Martelly-Conille, 500,000 jobs would be created in three years and 1 million in five years to improve the living conditionss of the Haitian people.
