Haiti - FLASH : Conspiracy to overthrow the President Martelly
In an emergency press conference, Thursday late afternoon in Santo Domingo, the Governments of Haiti and of the Dominican Republic denounced a conspiracy organized to overthrow the President Michel Joseph Martelly. In addition to representatives from both countries were also present the Ambassador of Haiti to the Dominican Republic Fritz Cinéas and the Dominican Ambassador to Haiti, Ruben Silié.

In the statement read to the press by Rafael Núñez, Director of Presidential Press it is mentioned :

"In response to national security reasons of the Republic of Haiti and of the Dominican Republic, the two governments, represented by Foreign Minister Carlos Morales Troncoso, the Haitian Minister of Justice, Michel Brunache and the Attorney General of the Republic, Dr. Jimenez Radhames, denounced before the national and international public opinion, that, according to information provided by security agencies of the Dominican Republic, Colonel [retired] Pedro Julio Goico Guerrero [aka Pepe Goico], organized and implemented a plan to destabilize the democratically elected government of President Michel Martelly.

In this plot, Pepe Goico instructed the citizen [Haitian] of the the neighboring country, Pierre Kanzki, to launch a campaign of discreditation against the Haitian President.

This campaign is based on a false accusation, baseless against the integrity and reputation of President Michel Martelly.

According to the information of Colonel Pepe Goico, Mr. Pierre Kanzki, should contact other sectors of the Haitian national life to execute a plan, which aims to obtain the overthrow of the Haitian government.

The governments of Haiti and of the Dominican Republic condemn this type of criminal action, of seditious conspiracy, which threatens the Peace, the order and tranquility of the Haitian people."

Two records intercepted by security agencies of Dominican Republic were presented to the press as the basis of the denunciation presented. In these recordings where we hear the voice of Guerrero, which evokes the recent scandal of millions that would have, according to the allegations been paid to the President Martelly.

Friday morning in Haiti, the Office of Communication of the Ministry of Justice has indicated that Michel Brunache, the Minister of Justice would make a statement in the morning on this matter.
