Haiti - Literature : International Colloquium around the work of the poet Georges Castera Fils 01/05/2013 14:37:13 While poetry seems overshadowed in many countries, it remains a favorite genre in many countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. In Haiti, we speak of a major genre, with a high production of poetic works. The Haitian modern and contemporary poetry, both local and migrant, evolving and is practiced extensively in both official languages French and Creole, which is affirmed at the end of endless struggles, including of the poet Georges Castera Fils, who practiced both languages on a regular basis, in respect of its publications which are an impressive work. This colloquium, managed and coordinated by the FCC, is part of the Legacy Project (projet Legs) esigned by Georges Castera. The implementation of the colloquium received the support in particular of the UEH , the UNIQ, the French Institute of Haiti (IFH), Knowledge and Freedom Foundation (Fokal) and Anne Marie Morisset (FAMM) Foundation. This colloquium brings together many experts from various countries, who will speak in six panels (Conference debate) on the following themes : "From the late style at Georges Castera. Ultimate freedom and a sense of disaster."
