Haiti - NOTICE : Half-mast for our bicolor
By order dated Thursday, December 5, 2013, the President Michel Martelly, has officially announced a national day of mourning, this Friday, December 6, 2013, following the passing of Nelson Mandela, hero of the struggle against apartheid and the first Black President of a democratic South Africa, occurred this Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at the age of 95, at his home in Johannesburg, after a long illness bravely supported.

In solidarity with the Government and people of South Africa and respect to Nelson Mandela, who represents an inspiration for the whole humanity in the fight for the respect of the dignity and rights of the human person, in this day of mourning, the national flag will be at half mast. Radio stations and television stations are invited to schedule shows and music of circumstance also.

A Haitian delegation will travel to Johannesburg to participate in the official funeral of the mythical hero whose destiny and thought have been devoted to the struggle for the cause of his people, of all nations and peace in the world.
