Haiti - Tourism : Stéphanie Villedrouin in mission with UNIDO in Milot
Friday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism, accompanied by Ms. Dieudonne Luma Etienne, Regional Director north of the Ministry, Ms. Karine Bouchereau (consultant to the Ministry for the project of tourist gites in Milot) and Christian Tourteau of the Investment section, led to Milot (North), a mission composed of two experts from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), MM. Marllen Bakalli and Gieulio Vinaccia.

This two-day mission, falls within the scope of the vision of the Ministry of Tourism, which is to work for the Development of Destination and improve the tourism sector through the integration of local produce, craft with a strong cultural connotation for the benefit of the population.

During the day, the delegation visited, among others, the Citadelle Henry, the Sans Souci Palace, the Land of the Ministry of Tourism (potential site for the construction of a Brickworks) in Milot, the Rural Development Centre of Milot (CRUDEM ) [former tile factory] that manufacture crafts in pottery, a guildiverie, before ending the day with a great meeting with the artisans operating in the locality in order to understand their needs, enhance their productive capacity through technical and specific training aimed at improving the quality of their products and their living conditions.
