Haiti - Education : Ecuador will award scholarships to Haitian students

In his weekly working report, the President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, announced that it will award scholarships to young Haitians to obtain diplomas in the Ecuadorian universities.

"Haitian President Michel Martelly has asked us to give scholarships in our universities for Haitians students, especially for students in engineering, what we accepted with pleasure," declared President Correa, for whom this gesture is "a new form of South-South cooperation" with Haiti.

Note that according to the Ministry of Defence of the country, the last contingent of Ecuador, that has completed its work in Haiti, returned to Ecuador on Thursday.
