Haiti - Culture : Exhibition of Christmas trees made with recycled waste

Since Thursday, December 26 are exposed on the Champ de Mars of Christmas tree built with salvaged objects by the workshop "Atis Rezistans" of the Grand Rue.

Sunday, Marie Carmelle Rose Anne Auguste, the Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, in charge of Human Right and the fight against extreme poverty paid a quick visit to the workshops of André Eugéne and of Celeur Jean-Hérard in the Grand Rue to see the progress of the construction of Christmas trees made ​​by these artist of the resistance from salvaged objects.

She said she was amazed to see how these artists are able to showcase old recovered objects into works of art. For this exhibition, she intends to encourage the valuation of waste utilization by these artists, in order to raise awareness about the need to promote environmental protection, public health and fight against the abuse of waste of the consumption society.

These Christmas trees are exposed to the Champs de Mars in Corner of the street St Honoré and Magloire Amboise ; Corner Avenue Magny and street Capois. Capois street in front of the Union School (you will find the Christmas trees of Céleur Jean Hérard assembled from tires)

Minister Rose Anne Auguste invites the public to visit at least once the workshop of artists of the Grand Rue and especially thanked his colleague Jean Jumeau and the management team of the State Electricity of Haiti for their electrical supply of hristmas trees at the Champ de Mars.
