Haiti - Diaspora : 1st celebration of Independence Day of Haiti in Suriname

Wednesday, the Consul General of Haiti in Suriname, Alex Jospitre offered to the Haitian in Suriname the first celebration of Independence Day. In the program : prayers, poems, humor, singing, dancing and entertainment as well as traditional soup "Joumou" beer and free drinks.

Consul Jospitre is committed to ensuring that Haitians living in Suriname are no longer considered only as agricultural workers, but as the Greatest Freedom fighters in the world being the first black Nations to abolish slavery 210 years ago and as very talented singers, poets, dancers, rappers, entertainers... and unique cooks...

During this event the Consul presented his sincere thanks to :

"Our dear GOD for his many blessings ; to the President Michel Martelly, Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe and Chancellor Pierre-Richard Casimir for their trust and support ; to the District Commissary of Wanica: Mr. JIAWAN for his help and guidance ; to his Staff Members for their dedication and sacrifices ; to Parbo Bier for its generous contribution with free beer ; to Rudisa NV for its generous cotribution with free drinks ; to the Haitian Youth Organization in Suriname "l’Union fait la force" for its immense support as well as the free soup and to the pastors Ludovic & Fleurentin, OHS & ACHS Organizations and all friends and supporters from the Haitian Community who contributed to make this event a successful and unforgettable reality.
