Haiti - Music : The Group «Chouk Bwa Libète» is preparing a European show 06/01/2014 10:20:58
"Chouk Bwa Libète" is a group of "Mizik Rasin", a combination of rhythms, dances and songs, characteristics of Vodou. The four drums glide from one rhythm to another, real "transmitters" of memories, dance is neither aesthetic nor premeditated, it is real... The group will stay two weeks in residence, under the direction of Michael Wolteche, to implement all the artistic and technical aspects of a European show, as well as communication elements necessary for the international promotion of the Group (pictures, videos...) The musicians will also prepare a collaboration with the Englisg musician Simon Carter, better known under the name "Crystal Distortion" pioneer of electronic music in Europe. "Chouk Bwa Libète" continues the tradition of bands like Boukman Eksperyans, Boukan Ginen, or Rasin Mapou de Azor. Remember that all members of the group live and work in the area of Gonaïves.
