Haiti - Politic : Binational Dialogue, the Government continuing its consultations 07/01/2014 08:34:33 Head of Government reiterated at the meeting, the commitment of the Administration Martelly and the commitment of his government to find lasting solutions to the various problems that affect the relations between the two countries. Recall that during the first meeting of the Joint Commission, the two sides agreed to discuss particular topics relating to trade, border security, the environment and migration. The Prime Minister who will chair the Haitian Commission also intends to identify opportunities to ensure fairer and more equitable trade relations between the private Haitian and Dominican sectors. Thus, he intends to insist for the export procedure on Dominican market is made public, in order to facilitate the desired trade reciprocity by Haitian entrepreneurs. Stephan Coles, President of the Private Sector Economic Forum, welcomed these meetings initiated by the Government with the various sectors of national life as a prelude to discussions with the Dominican Republic. He also, wished an agreement is found between the two parties for a reduction of tariffs and the lifting of censorship of products manufactured in Haiti and exported to the neighboring Republic. For efficiency, the talks will be conducted in each area by specialists, that will have the task of presenting an overview of the situation in order to arrive at acceptable solutions. After these exchanges, which will run through 2014 [1 times per month], Prime Minister Lamothe, expects that all the concerns of both countries are taken into account.
