Haiti - Diaspora : Commemoration of January 12, activities of the Consulate of Chicago 11/01/2014 09:58:45
"January 12, 2010 is a pivotal moment in our national life. It is present in all of future and our reconstruction projects. However, our Mission wishes to enjoy the following activities to make a punctual tribute in memory of the victims of this historic tragedy : - Saturday, January 11, at the conference presented to the local 'Pan African Association' (6163 N Broadway St Chicago, IL 60660) from 2:00 pm by the organization 'New image of Haiti' - Sunday, January 12, during a Mass celebrated from 5:30 pm by Bishop Joseph Perry at the Church of Our Lady of Peace (7801 South Jeffery, Chicago). - Sunday, January 12, at the recital of Haitian classical music presented at 7:00 pm at the University of Chicago (5801 S Ellis Ave, Chicago) by the Ethno-musicologist Lauren Eldridge and his group, in memory of the victims. - Saturday, January 18, during the evening of unity presented by the 'Haitian Congress to Fortify Haiti' in collaboration with the Consulate General of Haiti in Chicago."
