Rufus Ewing, Prime Minister of the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI), urged the Haitian government to make more effort to stem the flow of Haitians illegal immigrants towards his country "The Haitian authorities must do more to discourage their nationals to risk their lives in makeshift boat," stressing that his administration is ready to work with Haiti to prevent tragedies "Each year, are dozens of Haitians who perish at sea trying to illegally reach the Bahamas, the Turks or the United States of America," recalled Mr Ewing.
