Haiti - Education : Important meeting about the relaunch of the Program «ARSE 19»
An important working meeting was held recently at the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training with the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB), the Directorate of Engineering School (DGS) and the firm Miyamoto Haiti.

The meeting focused around the Support Programme for the Reconstruction of Education Sector (ARSE). Participants focused on the relaunch of the Program "ARSE 19" whose construction sites of 19 schools, had been stopped for non-compliance with structural seismic standards.

At the end of the working session, it was decided to choose a new prototype to be adapted to the following sites : Moron, Cana, Vallières and Fort Liberté.

Given the location of Duclos which is located in a marshy area, recommendations were made to choose another site. IDB, Miyamoto Haiti and DGS have planned to visit Garde-Farge in order to perform a technical evaluation of this new site.

According to Mr. Bastien, Head of unit of quality control of the "Economic and Social Assistance Fund" (FAES), the work of 5 institutions will be relaunched in early February (Léon, Babpanyòl, Sarazin, Dos Palais and Plaisance) and 8 other schools (Furcy, Chansolme, Aquin, Condé, Mapou, Noël Monero, Barrière Blanche, Marion-Dufanal) will be in late February.
