The Carnival of Jacmel to be held Sunday, Feb. 23 on the theme "Pote Kole pou n avanse" is "an exceptional living heritage, popular, human and social event sought," declared Michaelle Craan, Consultant to the Office of Tourism South East adding "This folkloric event, after a long oral tradition, constitutes a real rite, which gives the feeling to participants to be unique."

Few weeks before the Day "D", the preparations for the Carnival of Jacmel result in a concerted and intense coordination between many institutions mayor, Delegation, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Tourism, Tourist Association of South-East, Chamber of Commerce of Southeast, Police, Red Cross...

Planning meeting on the pre-carnival Sunday :

Tuesday, Pierre-Michel Lafontant, the Delegate of South-East, the mayor of Jacmel, Noë Adonis, the Departmental Directorate of Tourism and the Police of Southeast gathered around the safety devices of pre-carnival Sunday in Jacmel.

Carnival of Jacmel, meeting with the Minister of Culture :

Wednesday, Mayor of Jacmel, accompanied by Ms. Dithny Joan Raton, Departmental Director of Tourism South East, and the organizing cell of the Carnival, Josette Darguste, the Acting Minister of Culture, around the carnival festivities of Jacmel, a colorful spectacle, with masks, music, choreography and of course dance. The Carnival of Jacmel llows to assert a cultural identity and specificity.

Working session around of projects of Carnival of Jacmel :

Thursday Ms. Dithny Joan Raton, had a working session with the group IBIDAA (Development Plan of Ile-à-Vaches) led by René Hubert and Michel Gehy, President of the Tourist Association of South-East, around the projects at the historic center of Jacmel andtourist circuits that will be offered as part of the Carnival of Jacmel, which is called to promote on the one hand the expertise and talent of local artisans and artists and those of the country and secondly to highlight the Government's plans in the region.

RARANAVAL :

Moreover Sébastien Kénol and Johanne Gardère, met the acting Minister of Culture, Josette Darguste to discuss the third edition of "RARANAVAL to TARA's" and its scale. On Saturday, February 15th starting at 8:00 pm TARA's will be the reflect on the Champ de March, during carnival parades.
